Tribal Histories: Bad River Ojibwe History

Join us Monday night at 7 here on YouTube for the next episode in our weekly series featuring the full PBS Wisconsin Tribal Histories project, continuing this week with Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican
History.
By the Kagagon and Bad Rivers, Mary Bigboy, Thomas O’Connor Sr. and Robert Powless Sr. shared stories of the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, from their early migration to the Lake Superior shores to a once-thriving lumbering community to the present day honoring of traditions through the drum, ceremonies, and harvesting the wild rice.
We will share another full episode from this series here on Facebook each Monday night through Dec. 28 as we learn from tribal storytellers sharing the culture and oral traditions that have shaped their communities across generations. The series of half-hour programs presents the histories of all eleven federally recognized American Indian tribes and bands located in Wisconsin, plus one tribe that is seeking to regain its federal status.
