Cave Dweller Villages Need Jesus - OCI On The Frontlines

I am in Palawan, Philippines, for this week's report. Traveling and everything involved was a little challenging this past week. We arrived at the PAMAS base (an Angel One Affiliate) here in Palawan on Friday evening, just as the Sabbath was beginning.
 
What a blessed Sabbath! I met with the local missionaries and fellowshipped with them. Representative missionaries from AFM and PAMAS were present.
 
Today, Sunday, we started our morning by organizing and loading the helicopter to deliver ASI picture rolls, blankets, and sleeping mats to the remote mountain villages and schools.  We departed for the first trip into the mountains, fully loaded; I soon realized the importance of a helicopter for this kind of work.  It literally would take hours and or days to hike into these remote villages, and the small landing areas needed for a helicopter are at a premium.  There is no flat land as soon as you start into the mountains.
 
Just recently, there was a very young baby that died due to possible exposure to the cold mountain nights.  So, part of the delivery today was for blankets for the families and children.   This was a welcome and appreciated gift for these families.
 
We also put ASI picture rolls on board to deliver to each school and bible worker in these remote villages.
 
The most remote place we visited today was a village on the western side of the mountain range where there were several small communities of indigenous people who were labeled as cave dwellers because they lived on the sides of limestone cliffs and then during the rainy season they will move into the caves to avoid the extreme rainy conditions.
 
The return trip across the mountain range was complicated by a storm system moving through the area and caused us a temporary delay as we waited for the worst of the storm to pass.
