What it is: A perk that lets you bring a designated companion with you for (almost) free on any Southwest flight. You only pay taxes and fees (starting at $5.60 one-way).

How to get it:
Fly 100 qualifying one-way flights in a calendar year.
Earn 135,000 qualifying Rapid Rewards points in a calendar year.
How long it lasts: For the rest of the year you earn it, plus the entire following calendar year. (Earn it early in the year for maximum benefit!)

Key things to know:
- You can change your designated companion up to 3 times per calendar year.
- There are no blackout dates or seat restrictions.
- You can use it for both paid flights and award flights booked with points.
- Companion Pass qualifying points can be earned through:
a) Southwest flights
b) Southwest credit cards
c) Base points from Rapid Rewards partners

Important note: Not all points count towards Companion Pass qualification (e.g., transferred points, purchased points).
