The seeds of "Strong" (when it was nothing more than just a chorus) sat on my laptop for about two years before I found the right words to finish the rest of the song. As far as songwriting goes, this was unusually long for me but I knew this song was special so I had to get it right.

One day when I was writing the rest of the song fell out of me and I knew it was the perfect front door to what would become my third album. I uploaded the song onto Instagram in its bare bones and was eventually contacted by @mikeshinoda from @LinkinPark, who asked if I'd be interested in having him produce it live on his Twitch channel as a part of his #ShinodaProduceMe series. Of course I said yes, and the rest is now history. Mike took this song and turned it into something I never could have imagined, and it's an honour to have had the chance to work with him.
