"Workshop" - Performance Art Piece

"Workshop" is an experimental silent film by artist Billie Posters. It depicts a bonafide performance workshop where a group of novice participants learn Meyerhold actor training techniques from Posters, their instructor. The work is both a performance workshop and an art film commenting on the function of workshops in the archiving, transmission and mediation of performance types which lack a reliably translatable 'document'.
Specifically with Meyerhold's practice, it was for the most part exterminated through the Soviet Rationalisation of the SU and Meyerhold himself executed due to his founding and practice, 'workshops', of Biomechanics. My work is underscored by this historical narrative in allegory. I dedicate this piece to Vsevolod Meyerhold who is a supreme influence on my practice and inspiration.
