Bad Kids Are a Myth

When a child’s behavior feels overwhelming, it’s easy to label them as “bad.”

But children aren’t bad—they’re communicating something through their behavior. For parents, teachers, therapists, and child care professionals, this shift helps us respond with curiosity instead of judgment.

Behavior is a message. Our job is to learn how to read it.

What changes when we stop asking, “What’s wrong with this child?” and start asking, “What is this child trying to tell us?”
