Fungal acne is not acne at all! Also known as Malassezia folliculitis, is a common skin condition frequently misdiagnosed as regular acne. This Fungal Skin Condition is caused by an overgrowth of yeast that is present in the hair follicles. With this in mind, it is also a condition that is passed onto others.
If you have breakouts that won’t budge, no matter what treatments you try, you could be dealing with fungal acne. It's red, sometimes itchy, and maybe a bit different from other acne you see from time to time. Fungal acne folliculitis is a type of acne, which is commonly misdiagnosed and the way to treat it is completely different, so unless you're aware of what it is, you could even be making the infection worse, not better.

2. Its bumps are uniform in size.
