Latino and Hispanic Focused Film Production Company Takes Foothold in Georgia
Georgia now produces more feature films than anywhere else in the U.S., including California. Driven in part by state-sponsored incentives and media moguls like Tyler Perry, the southern state is now home to new film studios and companies — including Playa Azul Media, that spotlights Latino and Hispanic voices. Laura Chavez goes behind the scenes with its founder, architect Maria Guerra-Stoll, to see what motivated her to become a filmmaker.
