1944? German troops march along country road with horse-drawn carts, and horses, soldiers on bicycles. Crossing collapsed bridge and temporary pontoon bridge. Military vehicles, artillery and trucks advance. Troops crossing narrow river in rubber boats. Signpost 2k Ieper. Big guns camouflaged in woods, guns firing, good CUs.
German infantry crossing open field, taking cover behind car. Troops enter town following bombardment - Shell damaged buildings. Artillery moved into town, troops with wagons enter town in heavy rain. Pan across abandoned tanks in town square; CUs tanks painted w/ 'Privee d'Amour' and 'Gisele'. LS people on huge pile of rubble next to grand archway.
Panzer division enters town - good shots tanks along street and through bushes.
Germans firing artillery and rifles. British soldiers, prisoners of war, run along road with hands raised. Prisoners searched. Prisoner walking with white flag of surrender. Barrage Balloon / LTA in sky. Huge gun bombards Lille. Artillery fires. Allied troops surrender. Battered coastal defences. CU showing shell holes.
German cavalry advance across bridge over small river. Sign 'Valenciennes: Vitesse et Stationnement Reglementes'. Troops entering bomb damaged town, destroyed buildings. French aircraft factory with destroyed, half finished planes. German troops starting up abandoned plane on tarmac which has nose art of the Gallic Cockerel stamping on Nazi flag.
