He interviews Johnnie Jones, the warden, who discusses the prison’s vocational programs and prisoner rehabilitation. Hinton also interviews four inmates: Barbara Jarreau, Beverly Slaughter, Shari Logan, and Sherry Littleton. They discuss life in the prison, their work programs, what prisoner rehabilitation means to them, and their hopes for the future.
