Galloping Lines during 2015 Thanksgiving Ice Storm
Almost 5,000 SWEPCO customers in the Panhandle experienced outages in the Thanksgiving weekend ice storm, and our crews are still picking up the pieces. This short video shows a phenomenon called "galloping lines," which can happen when ice is on the primary line and the conditions are just right. We lost many cross arms in this area.
