It was my Dad's 70th Birthday this week, he and my Mums favourite hobby is ballroom dancing. They are always heading out to dance parties or ballroom dance themed weekends so when I thought about my Dads 70th birthday cake design I knew exactly what I was going to create. Ive endless photos on my phone of pictures he and my mum have sent me when they are heading out all dressed up and I thought a tuxedo cake would be perfect for his Birthday. He loved his cake and most of all I loved creating something to make him smile. I used a victoria sponge cake recipe to create this Tuxedo themed cake. I made vanilla frosting and jam for the filling and covered the cake with black fondant icing. To create the edible shirt and tie I used white fondant and black fondant mixed together with some gum tragacanth for stability and added some black edible glitter for a bit of Birthday Bling!
