St. Petersburg Beading Stitch (Single Chain) - Bead Weaving Basics

✿ Hey beautiful! It’s Gina from https://orchidandopal.com. In today's video, I will share another installment of my bead weaving basics series to show you how to create the classic St. Petersburg beading stitch (single chain version). Once you learn how to begin the beadwork, you will simply repeat the same few steps until the chain has reached the length of your choice. You may make a simple seed bead bracelet, or extend the length for a full necklace! Then, attach a clasp of your choice to the ends of the beadwork, as desired.

There is an almost endless array of bead options that will work in the St. Petersburg beading stitch. You may also play around with using drop bead shapes, and bugle beads, which create a sort of beaded fringe from the bottom of the chain. Please see below for recommended materials and shops:
