After witnessing a violent murder as a child, traumatized Tommy slips into a catatonic state, rendering him deaf, mute and blind. As his existence wears on, he's abused by sadistic relatives and neighbors - but an uncanny knack for the game of pinball saves his life. He rises to international superstardom, and inspires people all over the world.
