Once a legendary naval guard, he cast his swords into the sea after a corrupt lord ordered him to sink a refugee vessel. Now, he wanders the jagged coastlines, carrying only a single wooden practice sword (bokken), having sworn an oath never to draw steel again.

The Oppression:
He wanders into Mallow Bay, a once-thriving fishing village now choked by fear. A ruthless pirate captain known as Red-Eye Garrow has blockaded the harbor with a fleet of war-galleys. Garrow has forced the villagers into slave labor, constructing a massive fortress on the cliffs while his pirates hoard the ocean's harvest, leaving the coastal families to starve.

The Spark:
While resting on the docks, Ren witnesses Garrow’s pirates preparing to drown an old fisherman who could no longer haul the heavy nets. When the fisherman's daughter begs for mercy, a pirate raises a cutlass to strike her down. Ren leaps between them. Moving with the fluid, unpredictable grace of the ocean waves, his wooden sword shatters the pirate's blade and knocks the attackers into the freezing surf.

The Stand:
Garrow vows to burn Mallow Bay to ash. Ren knows the villagers cannot match the pirates in a open clash of steel, so he turns to the sea itself. Utilizing his past as a naval strategist, he teaches the fishermen how to manipulate the bay’s treacherous, shifting tides. Together, they covertly modify their small fishing skiffs into agile fire-boats and weave massive nets from razor-sharp kelp.

The Climax:
Under a moonless night, Garrow’s fleet launches a full-scale assault. Ren leads the fishermen into the mist. The pirates' heavy ships are lured into the shallow reefs, where the dropping tide leaves them stranded. Ren’s fire-boats ignite the enemy flagship. Amidst the roaring flames of the burning deck, Ren faces Garrow. Despite Garrow’s brutal axe strikes and black-powder pistols, Ren’s wooden blade finds its mark with lethal velocity, disarming the captain and sending him into the burning depths.

The Horizon:
With the pirate fleet destroyed, the morning sun rises over a free, sparkling ocean. The villagers gather on the docks to celebrate, but Ren is already walking the coastline. With his wooden sword at his side and his flute casting a bittersweet melody over the waves, he drifts toward the next horizon.
