Is this a requirement for Symphonic Metal? Epica Sancta Terra Reaction

Tonight I listened to Epica for the very first time! This was their song Sancta Terra and Floor Jansen joined them in stage!

I really enjoyed this song and I’ve listened to studio version since too and I think it’s great! That riff is catchy as hell, the chorus is an ear worm too! Her voice is fantastic! Is this a requirement for Symphonic Metal? Do you pretty much always have to have an immense singer leading the line?

A song I THINK is about someone being in heaven and telling their loved ones that they are safe and well.
