According to the World Watch List 2026 report released by Open Doors, nearly 388 million Christians worldwide are facing persecution, discrimination, and severe restrictions because of their faith.
The report highlights a sharp rise compared to previous years, with women and children increasingly targeted through forced marriages, denial of education, arrests, displacement, and violence.

Restrictions on Christian worship and church activities have intensified in several countries, particularly across Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia, where religious extremism, political instability, and authoritarian regimes continue to suppress religious freedom.
