For part 3 of this build series we're polishing off this little compact workbench by adding all of the door and drawer pulls, adding a shop vac discharge "vent", and painting it in signature Shop Nation grey. Ok so the real color is actually: Sherwin Williams Solo indoor/outdoor Latex paint in semi-gloss, color is "Cyberspace."

I'm going a little over the top on this one to make it extra awesome and that includes a really cool custom vent that I 3D Printed. It's one of those little design features that I'll know is there and makes me happy - but matters to literally no one else. Once I've got everything how I want it, all that is left to do is strip down the workbench and prep for paint.

I'm trying out a new paint sprayer this time, the Graco TC Pro cordless version. This sprayer is not as cheap as the Truecoat 360 DS sprayer that I have but it's so nice not having to deal with the cord. You wouldn't think it's a big deal but that cord get COVERED in paint, and tracks paint everywhere else. I also really liked the variable speed settings and better construction. I'll be sure to do a review on this unit in the future.

I first sprayed 2 coats of a white general latex primer on the MDF because I know it will soak it up. I had to make sure to get the edges very well coated because these seemed to eat the most paint. With a good base coat done I then applied 2 coats of the cyberspace latex paint. I'm happy with the finish BUT should have rounded over more of the edges to prevent the paint from chipping and peeling easy. The cherry on top was a vinyl shop nation logo added to the doors!
