Mollywood Times is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language coming-of-age comedy-drama film written by Ramu Sunil and directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak. Blending comedy, drama, romance, and sharp satire, the film presents a bold, unconventional take on cinema, moving away from traditional “love letters” to offer a more provocative and thought-provoking experience.

The film stars Naslen as Vineeth Madhavan, a young aspiring filmmaker from Kuttikkanam who dreams of winning an Oscar. He is supported by Sharafudheen, Sangeeth Prathap, and Althaf Salim, with Roshan Shanavas, Prasanth Alexander, Gopika Ramesh, Sreerang Shine, and others in key roles that add emotional depth and youthful energy to the narrative.

Produced by Ashiq Usman under Ashiq Usman Productions, the film features cinematography by Viswajith Odukkathil and music by Jakes Bejoy, while editing is handled by Nidhin Raj Arol along with the director.

The pooja ceremony was held on July 14, 2025, in Kochi, marking the start of principal photography. The first-look poster was released on January 3, 2026, followed by a self-love-themed motion poster on February 14, 2026, highlighting the protagonist’s intense ambitions and unique world.

Set in contemporary Kuttikkanam, the story follows Vineeth, an 11th-grade science student obsessed with cinema, as he pursues his dream of becoming an Oscar-winning director while dealing with real-life struggles, youthful conflicts, and the chaos of the film industry. The film explores themes of self-love, ambition, coming-of-age challenges, and the contrast between the myth and reality of a “beautiful life,” offering a satirical take on cinema through the journey of a dreamer caught between aspiration and survival.

Mollywood Times is scheduled for theatrical release on May 14, 2026, and has generated strong anticipation for its ensemble cast, satirical storytelling, and the collaboration between Naslen and Abhinav Sunder Nayak (Mukundan Unni Associates).
