Remembering Olobor the Lion King | Killed by Humans

We are still so missing him, and want to post something…It’s been a year since we forever lost one of our favorite lions Olobor, a brilliant fighter, a hyena killer, a loyal brother, a loving father, and the best-looking rocker. He was a victim of livestock encroachment and illegal grazing within Maasai Mara National Reserve, murdered at his own territory. His death left tremendous sadness to all of us who have been following lion dynamics in the Mara. The pain will never heal. Not the first innocent lion killed by herders, and won’t be the last. Cows are still rampant in particular areas of the Reserve including Maji Ya Fisi, Talek River, Rhino Ridge, and Marsh…etc. We still hope to see changes on this land…
