Protesters who halted coal freight trains are 'disrespectful'

Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon says the Extinction Rebellion protesters who halted coal freight trains today are “disrespectful” of coal workers.

“I mean, they put their own safety at risk, they put at risk the lives of those who undoubtedly, at some point, are regularly called upon to save them," Mr Fitzgibbon told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“It’s disruptive for our own economy but it’s particularly disruptive for other economies, that is, developing countries who so desperately need Australia’s world class efficient coal.”
