Strange Events Even for an Apocalypse by Jamie Horwath | Goodreads Review
Strange Events Even for an Apocalypse tells the tale of John Brightman. The story picks up after Ashley, a recon agent, frees Brightman from a biological prison. Ashley’s mission, a simple one, is to return Brightman to the underground so the Elders can examine information recorded from a device implanted in his occipital lobe: vital secrets on how to defeat the creatures that attacked humanity years ago in a fight called the Flesh Wars. Things don’t go as planned, and Brightman must seek out unsuspecting allies in the apocalyptic wasteland. Guided by strange dreams and visions, Brightman discovers truths kept hidden for eons. The novel incorporates characters from The Observer and A Breath Before Sunrise as well as a host of new faces. The ragtag group of unsuspecting friends must work together to defeat humanity’s greatest threat. As mysteries begin to reveal themselves to Brightman, he must discover the means to defeat an enemy as old as time itself. Although humanity believed its greatest adversary attacked the very flesh and bone of life, a deeper and darker battle arises. In the stunning conclusion to The Observer and A Breath Before Sunrise, a climatic fight between light and darkness unfolds.
