How to play those big fancy jazz chords

Eventually in your jazz journey, you'll be learning about upper structure triads.

At first, it seems like a lot to memorize the combinations of all these different triads on top of a given root note..

But like any skill, it'll become part of your muscle memory the more you do it.

When I was new to this concept my brain didn't want to accept how much work it'd take to internalize all this, and so I convinced myself that there had to be a more efficient way.

But now I realize there isn't.

You have to eventually just memorize all the combinations of triads and the sounds they create.

And I started doing this like 1-2 years ago so it's definitely possible to learn as an adult.
