I make a MrPete222 Bore-rite #1
Thank you to MrPete222 for his Bore-Rite design featured in this episode.
I make a Mr Pete222 (Tubalcain) Bore-Rite. This is the first of 2 episodes on making this useful shop addition. Tubalcain featured designing and making one of these on his channel a few months ago:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyFyQK9FjP8 for part one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LiD9RBicFM&t=979s for part two
This boring accessory will be extremely useful for the type of jobs I do. It is the first time I also tried casting aluminium, from a pattern ,which was the first pattern I have made also.
Some of the casting progress is in my video BSA crank oil feed : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1TFk837xSo&t=2s where you will see my many attempts to get a good casting. I eventually did an open mold casting after drying out the formed mold with a blowlamp. Unfortunately this made the casting thicker than intended, but it machined down OK.
I will be back onto the BSA project soon, promise!
Many many thanks again and best wishes to Mr Pete for such great content and the education we all gain from his channel, and thank you for sharing your design to inspire us.
Ade.
