Fireco Super Steady Telecsopic Mast with Semi Automatic Locking Collars

This video shows the operation of the newly designed Fireco Super Steady Mast with semi automatic locking collars.
The benefit of the semi automatic locking collars is that the collars can be operated from ground level on tall masts where the operator cannot normally reach the collars without the use of an access platform. This is achieved with a hook on an extension pole which is used to unlock the collar. Once the tube is fully extended or fully retracted, the collar is automatically locked with use of a spring loaded pin mechanism.

Super Steady masts are available from 115mm to 340mm in diameter and with extended heights of up to 40m.

The benefit of the Super Steady masts is that the mast can remain raised without the need for air pressure. The other benefit is that guying ropes can be used to support the mast and high guying forces can be achieved due to the locking mechanism in the collar.
