Day 18 of EDS Awareness Month 💛

Today’s video is about Arthrochalasia Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (aEDS), one of the rarest types of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

aEDS is caused by changes in the COL1A1 or COL1A2 genes, which affect collagen and connective tissue throughout the body.

Some features can include severe joint hypermobility, recurrent dislocations or subluxations, skin hyperextensibility, muscle hypotonia, kyphoscoliosis and congenital bilateral hip dislocation.

Rare EDS types deserve awareness, understanding and support too.
