Attorney Explains How to Make EIDL Loan Payments Online

In this video, I explain how to make SBA EIDL payments online and what you need to do if you want to pay the EIDL loan in full vs. partial payment. I also touch on PPP loan payments and repaying the EIDL advance/grant.

Use Pay.gov website to make partial EIDL loan payments. Pay.gov is a secure, U.S. government website that, among other things, allows borrowers to make their SBA loan payments online.

Go to www.pay.gov. Click on "Pay it right here" in the box titled "Make a SBA 1201 Borrower Payment." Read the instructions on the next page. Click "Continue to the Form" in the lower right corner of the page. Fill out the "SBA FORM 1201 - Borrower Payment" on the next page and click "Continue." Fill out the required information on the next page, including your loan number. Be sure to note the correct borrower in the name of borrower field (if you applied using an entity, this will be the name of your entity). Fill in method of payment and the required information with that. Review and submit.

NOTE: if you want to pay your EIDL loan off in full, do NOT use this website. Contact the SBA first and request a payoff amount and instructions on how to make the full payment. Similarly, if you are trying to return your advance/grant, do not use this page. Contact the SBA for instructions on how to return your advance/grant. Lastly, do NOT use this website to make a PPP loan payment. PPP loans are administered by your bank. Any PPP payments must be made to the bank directly.
