A Day With A Pannier Severn Valley Railway 14/08/2021

Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways

In this video we are at our friends at The Severn Valley Railway.

This was my 1st solo visit to the SVR since September 2020 as the 1st 2 visits of 2021 which included the spring gala were with members of my household.

We have a day on The Flyer train a round trip from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth & back which resulted in my 1st round trip from the Kidderminster for the 1st time since September 2019.

The locomotive given the honors was The SVR Pannier Tank Fund's GWR pannier tank 7714 facing north hauling some of the resident GWR set.

We depart Kidderminster as we see the 75069 Fund's Standard 4 4-6-0 75069 as she was allocated on The Explorer run.

We stop at Bewdley to pick up Passengers who opted to start their Flyer journeys there.

Our next calling point was Arley made famous for a number filmings including Goodnight Mr Tom & Oh Doctor Beeching Series.

Here at Arley we wait for The Adventurer to pass we see a few withdrawn class 43 HST locomotives in the sidings for storage following withdrawal from service from East Midlands Railway back in the early summer of 2021.

We press on wards to Highley were we had a gd hour & a half here to have a chance to visit The Engine House Museum & 7714 to have a rest before carrying on our journey to Bridgnorth unfortunately the rain started to come down as we approached Eardington bank but did stop as we approached Bridgnorth as we see 75069 ready to depart.

We end this video at Bridgnorth we a quick look round the shed before seeing the arrival & departure of 1501 Pannier tank fund's 15xx tank 1501 with The Adventurer.

Also at Bridgnorth what could be my last chance to see in person Jeremy Hosking's modified hall 6960 Raveningham Hall as since the making of this video 6960 is to be moved to Margate in Kent for undercover storage while she awaits to her turn to be overhauled.

We are not finished yet as I have bonus footage for ya all.

The day before my Severn Valley visit. A trip to Chester Cathedral was made to see the Making Tracks layout built by a small model rail team led by Pete Waterman recreating a section of the WCML north of Watford Junction.

We see a variety of model locos & units in action including some of Hornby's new releases the fully liveried Avanti West Coast class 390 pendo, The Midland Pullman HST (DIY project).

Finally finished with Hornby's model of as built condition Merchant Navy Bulleid Pacific 35017 Belgian Marine in her wartime guise as 2C17.

Thanks for reading enjoy the video.
