The Life of an Apple - A Crankie Puppet Show - Trailer

"The Life of an Apple" is a noir thriller style puppet show in the form of a crankie (an illustrated scroll cranked across a frame) featuring tabletop and shadow puppetry. From seed, to tree, to fruit, to unforeseen circumstances, this apple sets out to with honest intentions and winds up in the company of some bad fruit.

This piece was first performed in 2016 at the Black Cherry Puppet Theater in Baltimore, Maryland, and later that same year as part of the regional Puppeteers of America Festival, Puppet Homecoming, in the Catskills of New York.
