Empathy Radically Reimagined | Tarina Ahuja | TEDxPSU

Our world is on fire – with people struggling under systems of injustice, inequity, violence, and hate. We are witnessing an ever-growing void of action – a dangerous barrier to change. How do we heal? How do we rebuild? How do we transform pain into power? The answer lies in empathy but not the one you’re used to hearing about. We need to weave a new type of empathy into the fabric of our society - the type that allows us to convert feeling into meaningful social action. The only question left is - where do we even begin? It’s time to radically reimagine. Tarina Ahuja is a current sophomore studying political empathy at Harvard College. At the Harvard Kennedy School Institute of Politics, she serves as the Chair of the CIVICS program and an elected representative of Harvard's student government. Over the summer, she was a fellow at the National Democratic institute and is also the Co-Founder of the Greater Good Initiative and Young Khalsa Girls nonprofit organizations where she works in community organizing, politics, and advocacy to build equity and inclusion.
