Boiled Peanuts with shell on | Mumtaz Hasham

These peanuts are so juicy after they have been boiled. I grew up eating them in Zanzibar. Mom used to get them boiled for us or sometimes we would buy them from street vendors.

You break the peanut shells with your teeth and slurp the brine the water in the shells, eat the peanuts and discard the shells.

Ingredients:
Raw peanuts in shells
3 Tbsp salt
4 cups water
Trivet and Pyrex dish to stop the peanut one from floating

I used my INSTANT POT pressure cooker to boil them. It took 75 minutes to boil them the way we like them . If you like them softer you can add more time.
