Beethoven - Sonata No. 23 | grand piano + digital orchestra

John Bereslavsky (grand piano) and Teo Leonov (digital orchestra)

The Hall of Exceeding Mercy resolves all existential questions. What is the highest meaning of life? Is it patriotism, or a national idea? Is it the victory of good over evil or the victory over oneself? No, it is not. There is a higher meaning which is worthy to suffer for: it is the comprehension of Kind Providence. Yes, the highest meaning is somewhere in the unreacheable worlds, in the spheres of the Primordial Original Trinity, in the spheres of Exceeding Mercy. Each soul, no matter how much it has deviated from the path assigned to it, no matter how low it has fallen, notwithstanding all demiurgic fears and thanatic nightmares, is finally found in the Hall of Exceeding Mercy.
...A human being is full of vortical discrepant thoughts. A person looks for an answer and cannot find it. There is a tense struggle of spirits and the First movement reflects the inner states of the human being, his inward and outward battle. Finally the soul, like a small fish, swims into the Ocean of Exceeding Mercy and understands that all that is going on can be understood only in the context of this exceeding mercy...
