I've actually never tried a lip plumping gloss before I bought this one. I mean it's possible that I purchased one in junior high from rite aid for $3... I don't really remember. But, I've never had a quality lip plumper from a reputable brand.

In fact, the only reason I decided to purchase this one, was because I was doing a video on how to get big lips, and I felt like a lip plumping polish would be a great addition to it. So, I started doing my research, looking for a good lip gloss brand, and Buxom came up again and again. I saw that it had really good reviews, and then I saw that Ulta had a value pack that let your try out 4 colors for only $4 more than ONE regular sized tube. So naturally, I went for it.

The pack included two lip polishes in the shades Samantha and Dominique, and two lip creams in the shades Bellini and Pink Champagne. The polishes and the creams seem to be very similar in formula, the creams are just more pigmented that the polishes, which tend to be sheer with a hint of color, or clear. Some of the shades have glitter, and others do not.

The brand offers a huge shade range, with 21 lip polishes and 10 lip creams. Although some of the shades do overlap between the polishes and creams, this is still a great selection, especially compared to top competitors like two faced, who have a much smaller selection.

My favorite shade turned out to be the polishing cream in Bellini, because the tint was a very pretty pale pink on my lips. Samantha was a close second, but because it was not as pigmented, I did end up liking Bellini a little bit better.

After swatching all four of the colors on my lips, they did feel a bit chapped and irritated. It almost burned on the under part of my lip. But this went away in a couple of hours.

For the wear test, I applied Dominique onto my lips, and did not eat or drink anything for that time period to make sure I was not wiping off the product. I left it on my lips for an hour and fifteen minutes, and at that point, much of the product was gone. It was not nearly as shiny, and a lot of the tingling lip plumping sensation was gone. It was not gone completely, but if I was out and about, I would defiantly have needed to reapply.

The day before I filmed this video, I wore some lip gloss out, and it was a full 4 hours before the tingling sensation went away completely. So it does last a long time, but for the full effect, reapplying every 1-2 hours may be necessary.

The lip gloss does not hurt. It burns a little and feels numb and cold, but it does not hurt. At least not to me. It is more of a strange sensation than anything else.

As far as stickiness goes, I'd say this is pretty standard compared to other brands of lip gloss. Like your hair will get stuck to it if the wind blows it onto your mouth, BUT it's not any worse than most other brands I've tried.

Overall I gave this lip gloss a 7/10, because I was very happy with the shade range, but I wasn't blown away by the plumping effect. I felt like I got a slight plump, but it was not anything crazy, by any means, and although I am not going to return it, I would be happy to try other brands in the future.
