Blue Sky Studios' Story Artists - From Trainee to Working for a Feature Animation Studio

How do you land an internship or apprenticeship in a big animation studio? How is the transition from trainees to storyboard artists in a studio, like Blue Sky? What is like storyboarding for a feature film studio?

Steph Waldo and Esteban Bravo were my co-trainees and they stayed on at the studio, which is now part of the Fox and Disney family and produced films like Ice Age, Academy Award nominated "Ferdinand" and the most recent "Spies in Disguise".
