15th IESHR Lecture 2024

The 15th IESHR Lecture, supported by Sage, was delivered by Prof Michael Francis Laffan, Paula Chow Chair in International and Regional Studies at Princeton University on "Subjects of an Orientalist Despot: The Problem of the ‘Malaynesian’ People of the Nineteenth-Century Indian Ocean". The event was presided by Sanjay Subrahmanyam, Distinguished Professor of History and Irving & Jean Stone Chair in Social Sciences at UCLA.
