What is it like riding the new Lake Dunstan Cycleway... its awesome!

The latest extension to the Otago Rail trail, the Lake Dunstan Cycleway is awesome.

Putting cycle tracks where its seems impossible, has enabled one of the greatest mid level rides to open up.

Advertised as a grade 2, but could easily be grade 3 the cycleway has swing bridges, switch backs, vineyards, cliff clip ons, drop offs and of course the incredible Central Otago views... A little something for everyone.

Please note: you need to be a confident and competent rider to complete this ride, caution and common sense is advised on the narrower and faster sections.

Wanaka Bike Tours is providing bike hire (standard and e-bike) and shuttle services from central Wanaka to this fantastic ride. We can also cater to customers coming from Queenstown or other areas with a slightly cheaper option to meet us in Cromwell.
