In 2004, George Jones celebrated 50 years as a country music legend with a tribute concert recorded for PBS's SOUNDSTAGE program. Hosted by Reba McEntire, the concert presents live performances of Jones's greatest hits by 20 country luminaries, including Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Kenny Chesney, and Martina McBride.
"The Window Up Above" is a 1960 single written and originally recorded by George Jones. The version recorded by Jones peaked at number #2 on the country charts and spent a total of 34 weeks on the chart. It became a #1 smash for Mickey Gilley in 1975.
Matthew Shafer (born June 6, 1974), also known by his stage name Uncle Kracker, is an American singer-songwriter, rapper and musician known for his country and rock music. He was a turntablist for Kid Rock's backing group Twisted Brown Trucker and since 1999 has recorded as a solo artist. His singles "Follow Me" and "Drift Away" were top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
