Following a huge spike of over 33 thousand cases reported of Covid 19 yesterday Dr Hilary explains what this means. Although one spike doesn't mean a trend, it is thought that the clamor to have fun after lockdown 2.0 was announced but before it came into effect created this spike. Dr H explains that whenever we get good news people become a bit complacent, they let their guard down and we see more cases. 33 thousand cases equates to 1 in 80 of the population carrying the virus. Hilary reveals that these new rapid tests are a positive step forward and will mean that those in care homes can have visitors from their loved ones.
