As the founder and lead organizer of the Madison-based, youth-run organization Bleed Shamelessly, activist Maggie Di Sanza has worked tirelessly to combat reproductive injustice in the Madison area. Di Sanza brings the issue to light as she discusses menstrual equity, period poverty, and reproductive justice. As the Founder and Lead Organizer of the Madison-based, youth-run organization Bleed Shamelessly, Maggie has worked tirelessly to achieve menstrual equity, end period poverty, and promote reproductive justice in Southern Wisconsin. Notable initiatives led by Maggie include: Successfully campaigning to provide menstrual product dispensers in school restrooms, hosting a rally for menstrual equity, lobbying to end the tampon tax, and providing over 4,000 people with menstrual products during the COVID-19 pandemic. Maggie has also organized with Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin, the Rape Crisis Center, the Youth Climate Action Team, Vote16, and the Sexual & Reproductive Health Alliance of Dane County. Her work has been published in the Capitol Times, The Wisconsin State Journal, Tone Magazine, The Defiant Movement, Education Week, PBS, among others. Maggie plans to attend college next year, and continue to work on youth organizing and student activism.
