BABYLON BERLIN Season 4 Release Date Set for 2021 on Netflix. Volker Bruch Returns as Gereon Rath

Hey, guys! We have great news for the fans of the German period crime thriller series Babylon Berlin. Sky 1 has officially renewed the neo-noir drama series for Season 4. It is slated to be released on Sky 1 in Germany and on Netflix for international subscribers some time in 2021. To film Babylon Berlin, the Babelsberg Studio, located just outside Berlin, built the largest in Europe permanent production set that contains replicas of different Berlin neighborhoods. Based on novels by German writer Volker Kutscher, Babylon Berlin was co-created by well-known German film directors and producers Tom Tykwer, Achim von Borries and Hendrik Handloegten. Season 4 will be based on the novel Goldstein and will be set in 1931. It will cover Gereon Rath's third case and The Fatherland Files, Gereon Rath's fourth case. The show’s renewal was expected, as Babylon Berlin has been loved by critics and audiences from the first season: it boasts impressive approval ratings of 8.4 on IMDb and 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. In just three seasons, the series banked 22 award wins and 18 nominations. Volker Bruch will be back to reprise his lead role of Gereon Rath alongside Liv Lisa Fries and Leonie Benesch.
