Greenland Rubies - Natural Beauties

This is the second video we did after our field expedition in May 2018. Like in 2017, we had the privilege to visit again the Aappaluttoq ruby mine operated by « Greenland Ruby » ( a company part of LNS group) in South West Greenland and collect, on site, at the mine, some reference samples for the "Bahrain Institute for Pearls & Gemstones" (DANAT) Lab. It was great to see again the mine, this time in production and witness the mining in arctic conditions. Interestingly also, this time we were joined by Mads Kornerup, from Shamballa Jewels. While I was collecting samples from the mine to the lab, he was looking at the whole thing from his side, meaning from mine to market. A very interesting expedition indeed.
