How to Build a Mesh in COMSOL Multiphysics®

The mesh used for a geometry plays a significant role in how a model is computed. In the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, you can have the software automatically create a mesh or manually build a custom mesh yourself. Regardless of which type of mesh you choose to build, the software contains many tools and operations that simplify the process of mesh creation.

In this video, we use three examples to demonstrate how to build a mesh for a model geometry. We also discuss the following topics:

- How meshing plays an important role in a simulation
- The different meshing sequence types available for you to use
- The different element types available in the software
- How to change the size, number, and distribution of elements in a mesh
- Experimenting with different meshes for a model geometry
- The importance of the element discretization order
- Improving the quality of a mesh
