How to pass USCG VESSEL SAFETY CHECK

In this episode I go over in detail what is required in order for you to pass the US Coast Guard Vessel Safety Check (VSC). Not too long ago my boat was inspected at the ramp when I was cleaning up. So, I figured what better opportunity to share what I learned and took away from the experience. Especially, that this inspection can occur at sea, out of the water at the ramp, or docked in a marina. I cover the basics like PFD's and visual distress signals. I also go over the less known items like a functioning bilge pump and it's back-up, to navigational lights and vessel appearance. If you're a boat owner and plan on hitting the water any time soon, or maybe you're new to boating and need a clear and simple definition of what the Coast Guard looks for during an inspection... This episode's for you.

Enjoy,
Tight lines & good vibes.
