In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be starting our two part mini series on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). We will be starting this mini series on Crohn’s Disease and will be covering Ulcerative Colitis next. We require much more research and studies on Crohn’s Disease, but we start this lecture on the current theory of an autoimmune, genetic, and environmental combination that is associated with Crohn’s Disease. Next, we discuss what we know about the pathophysiology and clinical features associated with patient's who have Crohn’s Disease. We then move into the diagnosis of Crohn’s Disease and will be showing images from a colonoscopy and dermatological/optic manifestations of this disease. We will be finishing this lecture with the treatment of Crohn’s disease based upon a mild, moderate, or severe disease classification. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!
