In the Itential Automation Platform, you can utilize mock data while building or testing your adapters. What is mock data? Simple – predefined, placeholder data that’s associated with an action in an action.json file, allowing you to run an automation workflow and see an example return without making a live API call.

Mock data is especially useful for testing an adapter up until the point of an actual call, allowing greater freedom and flexibility and allowing you to test more iteratively and more often. By enabling users to flexibly incorporate mock data into their work in several different ways, Itential makes it even easier to ensure your automations work as intended.
