Excel Tip: Master Two Level Sorting with a Single Formula #shorts

When working with dates, you might need to find the next available date from a list that is equal to or greater than today. You can use XLOOKUP with the TODAY function for this purpose. The TODAY function gives the current date, and XLOOKUP searches for that date in the list and returns the closest match. Make sure to use the last argument as 1 for approximate match in ascending order. Here is the formula:

=XLOOKUP(TODAY(), A2:A10, A2:A10,,1)

This formula helps you automatically find the next upcoming date. For example, if today is June 16th, and your date list includes June 15, June 16, and June 18, it will return June 16 as the next available slot.
