Unboxing the New American Express Platinum “mirror” Card.

✨ Unboxing the new American Express Platinum ✨

They say it comes with an $895 mirror 🤣 … but really, that’s just the new annual fee. The real question: is this shiny piece of metal still worth it, especially if you’re flying to and from Hawaiʻi?

Here’s the breakdown of the new benefits:

✅ $600 Hotel Credit – Good for Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection. Many top Hawaiʻi resorts qualify, so one stay can nearly cover the fee. Perks like breakfast, upgrades, and late checkout make it even sweeter.

✅ $400 Resy Dining Credit – $100 every quarter at Resy restaurants. Lots of spots in Honolulu are covered, so this is money you’d likely spend anyway.

✅ $300 Lululemon Credit – $75 quarterly. Works on gift cards too, so you don’t have to rush to use it.

✅ Other benefits stay the same: Airline incidental credit, Clear Plus, Uber Cash & Uber One(new), Saks Fifth Avenue, Digital Entertainment (up $300/ yr) & Walmart+.

⚠️ The Oura Ring Credit – $200 toward the ring itself, but not the membership. Unless you plan on collecting rings every year, this one’s a little questionable. No me gusta

🎯 The bottom line: If you maximize the hotel, dining, and Lulu credits, you’re looking at over $1,300 in usable value. That more than offsets the fee, and we haven’t even touched on airport lounge access, 5× points on flights, and the luxury travel perks that make the Platinum shine.
