Vegan Dumplings 🥟🌱

I love dumplings. It’s definitely one of my favorite food groups along with baos, sandwiches, pizzas, pastelitos… pretty much a bunch of different variations of Hot Pockets.

I didn’t grow up making dumplings, and the closest thing to dumplings eaten by my Cantonese family were wontons and maybe siumai at dim sum.

Anyway, @martinez__christopher and I love these! It was my first time making them, and I’m glad I documented it because I don’t want to forget how I made these 🤣

WRAPPERS
Use store bought or turn on notifications for my next reel with instructions!

SAUCE & GARNISH
1 tsp rice/black vinegar
2 tsp chili oil
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
Scallions & sesame seeds

FILLING
1 minced carrot
5 minced shitake mushrooms
1/2 pound minced wood ear mushrooms
1/2 minced taiwanese cabbage
4 minced garlic chives
4 minced scallions
5 cloves minced garlic
2 tbs mushroom powder
2 tbs sesame oil
4 tbs vegetarian “oyster” sauce
2 tbs soy sauce
3 drops ginger EO
3 drops lemon EO

INSTRUCTIONS
1. I added all filling ingredients except essential oils into a food processor
2. Sauté until there’s no more liquid
3. Transfer to a large mixing bowl, add ginger & lemon EOs, and mix
4. Once cooled completely, start wrapping your dumplings
5. Steam the dumplings you will eat now for 7 minutes & freeze the rest
6. To cook frozen dumplings, steam for 10-12 minutes
