Top Tip Tuesday - Fluid Render Reveal

This week’s Top Tip Tuesday covers using a cached X-Particles fluid simulation to drive a dramatic scene reveal.

Starting with a basic Redshift water material applied to the fluid mesh, we then create an animated rock and lava shader for the hidden object using procedural Maxon Noise and a Material Blender node. By applying a Redshift object tag and controlling visibility with secondary rays, the object remains hidden from the camera - only becoming visible through the fluid’s refractions and reflections.

The result is a striking, cinematic reveal where the object emerges subtly from within the dynamic motion of the simulation - an elegant trick that adds depth, realism, and a sense of mystery to your motion design.
