The University of Cape Town recently hired their first indigenous healthcare advisor, Dr. Christie “Gogo Bazamile” van Zyl, to assist students in navigating holistic care. Dr. van Zyl is particularly concerned about students who are going through spiritual rites of passage while they are on campus and disconnected from their traditional spiritual roots.
